The Dutch Mahjong Association supports its associations...

In the Netherlands, mahjong has been played since the twenties. When the game was introduced at that time, mahjong was a real craze. In many living rooms, the wall is still regularly built. The game shops sell different versions of the beautiful game.

The Dutch Mahjong Association is a relatively young association. Founded in 2004, the association is experiencing constant growth with around 500 association members in mid-2015.

At the beginning of 2015, almost 25 clubs or clubs in the process of being established were affiliated with the association.

The tournaments organized under the auspices of the association include the three main competitive variants. These are Mahjong Competition Rules ( MCR ) also known as Chinese Official / Official International, Dutch Tournament Rules ( NTS ) and Riichi ( Japanese mahjong ).

At the Hague Circles we play and promote the MCR variant.

The association helps with the promotion of our "Steengoede Mahjong" but does much more than that. The association assists with the organization of tournaments, provides necessary materials where necessary. The NMB maintains official rankings for competition association members. The NMB helps associations with promotion. Also with the start-up of new associations by making knowledge available, and deployment of enthusiastic staff for courses, for example, is assisted.
